When Micron and Bitcoin Both Spiked: Ten Minutes of Weekend On-Chain Perpetuals Revealed a New Path of Risk Transmission
At 5:22 AM Beijing time on October 18, with the US stock market long closed and the Korean market also halted, a batch of stock perpetual contracts traded on on-chain venues like Hyperliquid collectively "spiked" within ten minutes—Western Digital dropped 7.03% to $298.70, Nebius fell 6.97%, Micron declined 6.32% to $818.57, and CoreWeave dropped 5.87%. Three minutes later, Binance's Ethereum perpetual single-minute trading volume surged to $152 million, and Bitcoin briefly dipped near $80,750. The stock perpetuals moved first, followed by crypto liquidations, which is the exact opposite direction of the past narrative where "crypto dragged down tech stocks." This article breaks down the four real events that happened in these three minutes and provides four practical response principles for ordinary investors under the new market structure of "leverage never rests." #SpaceX上市后首份完整季度财报将揭晓 $BTC $ETH $SOL The spike at 5 AM wasn’t a hit to the market itself, but to the leverage.
$BTC plunged straight down to 81,000, $ETH stomped through 2,400, and over $115 million in long positions were liquidated within sixty minutes. A whale holding $187 million in longs got 4,890 ETH liquidated at $2,356, with a position value of $11.74 million. After liquidation, the price was pulled back. Does it hurt? Yes. But don’t rush to call a bear market—let’s break down this spike.
This sell-off is more like a "liquidation fakeout" rather than confirmation of a trend reversal. What does a real drop look like? High volume breakdown, open interest (OI) collapsing, buying disappearing, and weak rebounds. What happened at dawn? $BTC dipped below 81,000 but recovered to 81,400 in less than half an hour, volume didn’t spiral out of control, and the order book had plenty of buy orders at the lows. More importantly, OI barely dropped; $BTC futures open interest remains near $52.6 billion, shrinking only 0.14%. In plain terms: leverage isn’t dead, just a different group is holding the positions. The whale’s chips were liquidated, but buyers scooped them up at the lows. This is a handover, not a crash.
Now, about that news you mentioned: the US delaying sanctions on Russia and expectations of changes in diesel supply. The logic isn’t wrong—if energy prices are capped, inflation expectations ease marginally, giving risk assets some breathing room. But don’t treat this as a lifeline. Analysts have clarified: Russia’s diesel increment barely covers about two days of US consumption, more symbolic than impactful. The market’s early morning sell-off was more about using macro sentiment as a pretext to clear high-leverage floating positions, not a real pricing in of a "bear market start."
The real test below isn’t at 81,000 but in the repeatedly tested range of 80,800–81,000. Further down, around 81,700 is where the densest long liquidity clusters; losing that would deepen the correction. The spike at dawn already tested this with a needle—caught and pulled back. Next, watch not the panic itself but whether anyone reaches out to buy on the second dip.
So, the trading advice is simple: don’t cut losses on the spike’s tip, and don’t get carried away during the rebound. If you’re highly leveraged, use this rebound to reduce risk; if you’re waiting on the sidelines for signals, a second bottom hold near 81,000 is much clearer than chasing the low at dawn and shouting "the bull is dead." Avoid random altcoins; when liquidity tightens, the “cheapness” of weak assets is often a trap.
One last note: posting this kind of content on the OKX platform, don’t pile on AI-style parallel sentences and templated "analysis frameworks." The platform’s algorithm now clearly targets mass reposting and thoughtless AI spam accounts. Original content, genuine judgment, and human expression carry much more weight. Posts can be short and punchy but must have your own solid viewpoint, not just a news recap.
The spike at dawn was just an appetizer. The main course hasn’t arrived yet—grab your knife and fork steady.
#特斯拉发布新一代Roadster,行情走高 #美国CPI与PPI双超预期,年内能否再加息? #SpaceX上市后首份完整季度财报将揭晓 CoreWeave dropped another 12% on Friday, evaporating 25% in a week — the debt of AI infrastructure is starting to blow up.
Closed at $61.39, intraday it once fell below $60, just one step away from the 52-week low of $59.51.
Its bonds have already dropped to 79% of face value, with the yield on 2031 maturity bonds surging to 16%, and the five-year CDS spread at 1195 basis points, a record high.
It carries about $51 billion in loans and lease liabilities on its books, and even Nvidia's halo can't hold it down.
I think this is not a falsification of AI demand, but the model of borrowing money to buy computing power has been repriced by interest rates.
Demand still exists, but with a 16% financing cost, the expansion story can't continue.
I observe but don't chase; I don't catch falling knives with this kind of debt-expanding stock.
If it stands back above $70 with volume, I admit the panic is over; if it breaks below the 52-week low of $60, the shorts will keep pressing.
Do you think AI infrastructure debt is just a short-term oversell, or is this the first crack in the AI bubble?

[Old Chive Observation] AI has started issuing coins and trading on its own. Can TIA really benefit from this?
Celestia's Eden is testing a bold new approach: letting AI Agents issue tokens themselves, trade with each other, and even purchase AI inference services through on-chain payments.
In other words, future on-chain traders might not only be humans but also a group of autonomously operating AIs.
This is also the aspect of the current TIA market cycle most likely to be hyped.
But there is an easily overlooked question here: Does more active AI Agents necessarily mean TIA is more valuable?
If Agents just issue a bunch of tokens and generate a large number of small transactions, it might be lively but the actual economic value could be limited. Only when these activities create sustained real demand is there a chance to support a longer-term narrative.
Therefore, what Eden really needs to prove is not whether AI can trade crypto on-chain, but whether these AIs can generate sustained economic activity.
If this experiment succeeds, Celestia will have a new growth story; if it ends up being just trading hype, $TIA might just gain another speculative label.Hunt at 05:22 AM: The “liquidity vacuum” of stock perpetual contracts, specially targeting those used to opening positions with BTC
From 05:22 to 05:32. Ten minutes, $51.59 million liquidated.
It’s not a black swan, it’s a script written long ago.
Early morning October 18, after US stock market close, before Asian market open.
Someone closed a long position of SanDisk (SNDK) with about $2 million. On an order book as thin as paper, this single trade directly smashed through the price.
The next second, about 10 addresses on Hyperliquid submitted IOC sell orders concentrated on SNDK, SOXL, MU, and SK Hynix within 1.8 seconds—immediate execution or cancellation.
IOC doesn’t mean “I want to sell at a certain price.” It means “I don’t care about the price, I only care about immediate execution.”
Then MU’s trading volume on Hyperliquid expanded to $10.8 million and $9.5 million within two minutes—chain liquidation triggered.
SOXL liquidations reached $12.73 million, SNDK $10.84 million, SK Hynix totaled $10.71 million. Long positions accounted for $38.06 million, nearly 74%.
All the victims were long positions. And they were dragged down in a chain reaction by a $2 million closing order.
The problem isn’t who smashed first. The problem is: why is this market so easy to “explode with a single touch”?
CoinGecko’s September report clearly states: for major stock perpetual contracts, Binance and Hyperliquid together hold over two-thirds of open interest, while second-tier platforms have severely insufficient order book depth.
The report also cited a precedent: SK Hynix perpetual contracts experienced a flash crash of 20% within one minute during the thinnest liquidity period before Seoul’s market open. The order book couldn’t absorb liquidation demands, and the automatic liquidation mechanism amplified volatility.
This is not an accident. It’s structural.
The fatal mistake most people make is applying their BTC trading position habits unchanged to SNDK, SOXL, SKHY.
Liquidity for assets like SNDK is an order of magnitude worse than ETH or SOL. For the same position size, stop-loss slippage can be two to three times worse.
After-hours traditional market makers leave, on-chain contracts still quote 24/7, but depth, slippage, and funding rates are all distorted.
You think you’re trading an “AI concept stock.” You’re actually in a room without circuit breakers, with extremely thin after-hours depth, and predictable liquidation transmission paths, trying to find an exit with an old map.
Three lifelines to survive:
First, position size. $2 million can trigger chain liquidations on SNDK, so your single position must be far from this scale. Large positions on thin order book assets (SNDK, SKHY, SOXL) are not “confidence,” they’re bait for others.
Second, timing. The 05:22–05:32 window, after US market close and before Asian market open, has the thinnest order depth and most uncontrollable slippage. Either avoid holding positions through this period or cut your position to a size that can withstand the worst slippage.
Third, platform diversification. The 1.8-second synchronized IOC sweeps on Hyperliquid show: when liquidity on one platform is breached, your stop-loss may not even trigger. Putting all stock perpetual positions on a single platform is not concentration, it’s naked exposure.
One last overlooked signal: IOC order flow.
Those addresses concentrated on shorting don’t care about execution price, only execution speed. When you see continuous “cost-no-object, just execute” sell orders on the order book—don’t catch the falling knife, withdraw first. What you catch isn’t a rebound, it’s fuel for someone else’s liquidation engine.
Stock perpetual contracts are not substitutes for BTC contracts.
They are a new species with completely different liquidity structures.
Using old maps won’t find new world exits—only the entrance to liquidation engines.

Teaching you how to position and play predictions
The essence of "positioning" in advance is: to form a well-founded probabilistic judgment before the earnings report and match it with a risk-controlled position structure, rather than betting on a single outcome.
Revenue consensus: about $63.0–63.5 billion, a year-on-year growth of about 23–24%. Advertising remains the core business, with AI-optimized targeting and automation considered to support performance.
EPS consensus: varies significantly by source; some analysts have lowered expectations due to costs, legal provisions, etc. Last quarter’s EPS clearly missed, and the stock price dropped about 8% on the day.
The probability of relatively stable revenue is high, but profit and guidance have a greater impact on stock price direction. After last quarter’s miss, the market is more sensitive to spending and ROI.
Common positioning methods and risks
Pure directional positions: highest risk. The earnings gap is essentially close to 50/50, and buying options faces IV crush. Suitable only for those with strong conviction and very small positions.
Volatility trading: buy straddles 1–2 weeks before earnings when IV rises, then sell before earnings to lock in IV expansion gains; or sell credit spreads/iron condors at high IV. Meta’s liquidity is good, suitable for these structures.
Defined risk spreads: vertical call/put spreads or iron condors to control maximum loss.
Post-earnings trading: wait for the gap to appear, then decide whether it continues or reverses, avoiding pure prediction.
Related asset linkage: pay attention to the read-through effects on advertising chain or AI infrastructure-related targets. $BTC
This weekend, BTC played dead quite convincingly.
Greetings, lords, and happy weekend.
I lifted the blanket to glance at the market, then covered it back—nothing much to see. BTC has been hovering between 80,700 and 81,900, and the whole market is like a middle-aged person working overtime on the weekend: physically at the desk, but the soul is already on the bed.
What about next week? No one dares to make a move without Wash speaking up. The new Fed chair Wash said in Bangkok on October 16: no forecast on rate decisions, and no hint on whether there will be a rate hike at the October meeting. For the FOMC on October 27-28, the market's probability of staying put is around 79%, but the September CPI year-over-year at 3.7% was higher than expected, so the tension around a rate hike remains. Wash hasn't officially spoken yet, but funds are already playing dead. Next week, a series of data like new home starts, initial jobless claims, and PMI will be released, each capable of shaking the market, but most likely it will return to where it started after the shake.
BTC only needs to watch two numbers. Below is 80,500, the 50-day EMA, which was tested and held this week; if it doesn't hold, the deep water zone between 76,800 and 75,700 is next. Above, 85,000 is the short sellers' stronghold; before the FOMC, pushing above it will require real money, but ETFs were still seeing net outflows on Friday, so the gun is out of bullets. Between 80,500 and 85,000, next week will most likely be this cage.Don't just focus on the coin charts; look up and see the real economy on the other side of the world: Australia's property auction volume last week plummeted about 46% year-on-year, with interest rates still at a 15-year high, and the housing market is being tightly suppressed.
What does this news have to do with $BTC? A lot. The underlying theme globally this round is that the rate hike cycle isn't over yet—CME is pricing in a 90% chance of another rate hike in December, and even the European Central Bank leans toward raising rates by year-end. High interest rates first hit housing and the real economy, and eventually, this will transmit to the most liquidity-sensitive risk assets, with crypto standing at the very end of this chain.
While others are guessing when rate cuts and easing will come, I'm more concerned about the fact that the price of money is still going up. When the water level recedes, those swimming naked will sooner or later have to get out of the water. The Bund's giant screen was lit for only 10 minutes: Solana used an ad to test the red line for the entire industry
On the evening of October 14, the entire outer wall of the Citibank Building in Lujiazui, Shanghai, lit up with a purple-blue animation, finally settling on six large characters: SOLANA. The official account posted a video with just one line of pinyin: "ni hao shanghai".
The crypto community instantly exploded. Even CZ couldn't help but retweet with emotion: Solana actually managed to advertise and open an office in mainland China, something BNB Chain still hasn't achieved.
But most people didn’t follow the later developments: [this light show was turned off after about 10 minutes], related videos quickly disappeared from platforms like Douyin, and the offline Shanghai event originally scheduled for the 17th was postponed. It’s said that the number of registrants far exceeded the approval limit, and even the venue and advertising agents might have been questioned.
One ad, half about showing face, half about inspection. What exactly is Solana playing at? I'll break it down into four layers.
1. Why dare they come? [Changed identity, not ambition.] Note one detail: whether it’s the ad, the office, or the four-city tour agenda, [not a single word about crypto]. The agenda is all about AI Agent, robots, Physical AI, high-performance infrastructure; the Shanghai event even invited the head of Alibaba Tongyi and a Fudan scholar for a roundtable. This is Solana’s new ID card: not a "virtual currency public chain," but a "Silicon Valley AI infrastructure foreign enterprise." And this isn’t reckless. In March this year, they already crossed a line once—the Hongqiao Builder Station opening event was canceled due to promotional wording issues. After paying the tuition for half a year, this time they’ve learned: the office is in Shanghai Tower (the world’s highest commercial office floors), Builder Station got Minhang District support, and all moves only touch technology and developers. The mastermind behind this is Foundation Chair Lily Liu: Stanford and Harvard educated, worked at McKinsey Beijing, and was CFO of a Chinese medical group. [Among crypto execs, she ranks high in understanding China’s political-business boundaries.]
2. So why was it only lit for 10 minutes? [This was a precise boundary mapping.] The regulatory logic has never changed: encourage hardcore technology, strictly control mass speculation. Offices can be approved, closed-door developer meetings can be held, universities and big companies can talk—because these are for engineers. But the Bund’s giant screen is different; it’s a top financial landmark, with an audience of ordinary Shanghai citizens. On September 30, China tightened virtual currency online marketing nationwide; then you turn around and hold a light show offline, which regulators see as circumventing the ban. So don’t see these 10 minutes as a failure. From Solana’s perspective, [they used the cost of one billboard to pinpoint the exact coordinates of the red line]: technology landing is allowed anywhere, but mass communication is not allowed an inch. This intelligence is worth a hundred times more than the ad itself.
3. Three real impacts on the whole industry. First, Solana gained heat but paid tuition. Though the ad was short-lived, CZ’s retweet brought over a million views, global media followed up, and the brand exposure cost-effectiveness was extremely high. The price was the postponement of the Shanghai event, with follow-up rectifications to watch. Second, it set a precedent for all overseas public chains. [Technology enters China, finance stays offshore]—keep trading overseas, put developer ecosystems in Lujiazui office buildings. CZ’s envy already shows that BNB Chain and Ethereum-based chains will soon copy this template. Third, it poured cold water on the fantasy of "China lifting bans." The market has long had a narrative: once China opens up, it’s the next super cycle. The screen turned off after 10 minutes tells you: [don’t use this expectation as a short-term buy reason.]
4. Solana’s trump cards and the position it truly wants. Technical trump card: founder Toly is from Qualcomm, invented the historical proof mechanism, focusing on single-chain high performance; the new client Firedancer is landing, and the Alpenglow upgrade aims to reduce confirmation time to 150 milliseconds. Ecological trump card: on-chain stablecoin settlement, DePIN hardware networks, meme culture, plus the SOL ETF already listed on US stock markets and a batch of institutional treasuries accumulating SOL strategically. But the most worth watching is its new narrative: [the payment and settlement layer for AI Agents]—in the future, AI will pay each other, needing a chain that is both fast and cheap. Notice this is the same position Sun Yuchen told TRON about. Leading public chains are fighting for the same spot: not the most expensive chain, but the highway for the machine economy.
Finally, three honest words for holders and watchers: 1️⃣ Don’t chase the Bund ad as a bullish signal; it’s a brand event, not a fundamental event; 2️⃣ The real signal will be whether the last three stops of the four-city tour (Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing) can be held smoothly—if yes, it means the "technology entering China" path is viable, which is a long-term positive; 3️⃣ The public chain war has never been on billboards, but on developers’ computers. The outcome of Solana’s move will only be clear in a year or two.South Korea's finance minister shouted to CNBC during the IMF annual meeting on Saturday: The semiconductor boom will last at least until 2027, and the supply-demand gap is still very large.
Sounds encouraging, right? But you have to think clearly about who he is and which side he stands on. Semiconductors have a higher share in South Korea's economy than anyone else, and the sharp fluctuations in the stock market over the past six months have almost entirely been amplified by chip stocks—can an official in such a position really say the words "it's peaking"?
I trust the money that votes with its feet more. In September, foreign investors net sold over tens of billions of dollars of South Korean stocks, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index just hit its longest losing streak since 2006. When the official calls for prosperity but foreign capital runs away, experienced players at the table know which signal to trust. The louder the good news is shouted, the more you need to first check your own hand.$APR remained weak in the five days leading up to the unlock on 10-23, currently priced at 0.03988, just one step away from the intraday low of 0.03804. The past day mainly saw bulls exiting. Liquidations included $140,000 in long positions and only $10,000 in shorts; leveraged longs were partially wiped out, and no one stepped in to buy the rebound. The chart shows volume increasing on the decline and shrinking on the rebound, which explains the pattern. We backtested similar large unlock events and found that about three-quarters of them underperformed the market in the week before unlocking, with consistent directional samples before and after. We are currently stuck in this window, with the moving averages in a bearish alignment and supply pressure from the unlock pointing in the same direction. The fee rate for all three phases remains at 0.0050%, indicating the contract side is quiet and should not be used as a reason. In the next few days, I expect 0.03804 to be tested again; if it breaks down, the weakness will likely continue until the unlock. Backtesting shows no stable direction after unlocking, so this judgment only applies until 10-23. The condition for a bullish reversal is to reclaim 0.04729, which is the intraday high before this round of sell-off. Holding above that would indicate selling pressure has been absorbed in advance, invalidating the bearish outlook. Term Structure Radar
The first-level positive spread for $BTC is very small. The buy near sell far quote spread is +0.87%, with the first-level pair size about $25; at a scale of 10,000, this level only covers about 0.25%. Wrong stop-losses can have effects even more terrifying than liquidation. A single liquidation is a sharp pain, hitting rock bottom at once; frequent stop-losses are slow torture, each cut small, making you think you are strictly controlling risk. Cutting back and forth a dozen or twenty times, the principal quietly wears away, and by the time you realize it, the account is already in a pitiful state.
Many traders treat "strict stop-loss" as a gospel but overlook one premise: stop-loss is to protect the correct logic, not to cover every impulsive entry order.
Stop-loss is not just mechanically setting a price level and calling it discipline. It must have structure, distance, and reason. Scientific stop-loss prevents fatal losses; indiscriminate random stop-loss is essentially actively and continuously paying protection fees to the market.

Let me first present the data.
The US spot BTC ETF saw a net outflow of $230 million this week, with BlackRock IBIT being the main source of outflow. ETH is even worse, with $320 million leaving in one week. The numbers look quite grim.
But here’s a detail: last week’s outflow was $820 million, which was cut down to $230 million this week, a 70% reduction in selling pressure. The cumulative outflow in October is just over $600 million, which is only a tiny fraction of the ETF’s total $104 billion assets—this looks more like portfolio rebalancing, not a run.
Looking at the price: BTC’s lowest this week hit 80,250, holding above the 80,000 mark for six days without breaking. Despite daily ETF outflows, the coin price didn’t drop, indicating that selling pressure was absorbed by spot buying.
My judgment: the most panic-driven selling pressure has passed, and the probability of stabilization is increasing. 80,000 is the bottom line; if it breaks, don’t talk about stabilization—directly look at 75,000.
Do you think this wave of outflows is portfolio rebalancing, or do institutions really have a negative outlook?

I stared at the three words "depends on" for a long time.
The market fears these three words the most. The plan itself is not new; it was proposed on the 8th, with conditions clearly stated—lifting the blockade, unfreezing assets, and ceasefire. But the US previously responded with "not sufficient enough," and now Iran is kicking the ball back, meaning the switch for the Strait of Hormuz remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, oil prices have already cast their vote for the market. Brent crude broke through $110 in the dark market a few days ago and is now hovering around $107. With oil prices stuck here, inflation expectations can't come down, and liquidity can't ease. Bitcoin fell from above 84,000 at the beginning of October, triggered by the move in the strait and oil prices breaking $100. I used to think that in geopolitical conflicts, Bitcoin should act as "digital gold," right? But this year's experience with several conflicts tells me its first reaction often is to fall along with risk assets.
So I don't intend to bet on "the US will agree" or "the US will refuse." This week, Nasdaq fell 4.5%, S&P 500 dropped 1.9% for the week, triggered by "credit issues" related to AI capital expenditures.
Meta closed at $709.33 on Friday, down 3.7%. Q2 free cash flow shrank to $784 million (compared to $8.55 billion same period last year), long-term debt rose from $58.7 billion to $83.7 billion, with 2026 capex guidance at $130–145 billion.
CoreWeave dropped about 24% in a week, with corporate bond yields breaking 15%; AI-related corporate bond issuance fell from 113 billion in June to 23 billion in September, the bond market is already voting with its feet.
I think the market is not denying AI, but repricing "burning cash for growth"; Meta's Q3 earnings after market close on October 21 will be the first touchstone, where free cash flow stability matters more than revenue.

#Meta巨额AI投入进入回报检验期 I have been closely watching $UNI. It started weakening since mid-September, showing some leading characteristics, so I judge that there should be a technical rebound during the period from the 13th to the 18th.
This also explains why despite continuous negative data earlier, the market was still able to repeatedly rally. It’s not a trend strengthening, but a short-term rebound that has not yet ended.
Today at 8 AM Beijing time, a new five-day K-line started, ending the previous rebound window, and the market has entered a new phase of directional choice.
My judgment: In the next 7–10 days, the downward direction will become clearer.
The $BTC 80,000 USD and $ETH 2,300 USD levels will overall step down to a lower level.
The time window switches, volume dries up, and rebound momentum weakens.
The main downward trend in Q4 remains unchanged. What’s truly worth paying attention to next is the magnitude and speed of the next breakdown. $ETH $SOL Negative fee rate soared to -0.193%. Observe first, don't blindly short. $SAND has retraced over 30% from the October high of $0.084 down to $0.0589.
At the beginning of the month, South Korea's three major exchanges Upbit, Bithumb, and Coinone lifted the cross-chain bridge warnings and resumed deposits and withdrawals, which once pushed the total contract open interest across the network to 6.4 times the market cap.
Now, sentiment has cooled off, breaking below the $0.065 neckline, but buy orders below the OKX order book still account for 59%, and shorts have to pay nearly 0.2% high funding fees each period.
I think the resumption of deposits and withdrawals in South Korea released six weeks of pent-up on-chain cash-out selling pressure, but now shorts are too crowded. Combined with the October Sandbox Studio public beta catalyst, chasing shorts at the current price is very likely to be squeezed by whales through fee eating and forced liquidations.
Currently, at $0.0589, observe without catching the falling knife or chasing shorts. Only a volume-backed recovery above the previous neckline at $0.065 confirms a stop in the decline and reversal.
If volume-backed break below the lower edge of the $0.0545 support zone occurs, the negative fee rate rebound logic will fail directly, and the price will retest the $0.048 starting bottom.
Facing an extreme negative fee rate of -0.193%, will you gamble on a $SAND short squeeze rebound at $0.0589, or wait for a retracement to continue shorting?

Recently, I came across a shared story and was silent for a long time after reading it.
A 32-year-old trader withdrew 250,000 from his account for living expenses. He said that when things were going well, the money in the exchange was just a number; once deposited, he never thought about withdrawing it, even feeling that "withdrawing" was a sign of giving up. During the tailwind period, he leveraged up, trying to make a big move, but ended up losing everything. Later, as traffic and trading became more difficult, his income dropped to less than a tenth of what it was during the tailwind period, and the pressure truly mounted.
What stings is not the 250,000. It's that he clearly had more in his account before but was never "respected".
Many people think the market punishes wrong directions. In fact, it punishes you for mistaking volatility for skill and tailwinds for normalcy.
---
The news is telling a very honest thing: money is becoming "timid".
Bitcoin spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $678.9 million in the first week of October, reversing from a net inflow of $241.1 million the previous week—a $920 million turnaround in one week. On October 7, the single-day outflow was the harshest, with $484.9 million withdrawn; BlackRock's IBIT alone pulled out $207.7 million. Ethereum ETFs were even more straightforward, with consecutive days of net outflows. The institutional risk-averse sentiment is not "possible"; it has already materialized on the books.
Stablecoins are also interesting. The total market cap is stuck around 310 billion, with a slight 0.34% drop in the past seven days; USDC shrank by 1.43% over thirty days. Stablecoins not rising means no new money is rushing in; ETFs flowing out means old money is moving out. Squeezed from both sides, the market's "oxygen concentration" is decreasing.
Not to mention the October 15 event, when the Federal Reserve's interest rate path wavered, forcing nearly $1 billion in leverage liquidations across the market. Ethereum contract liquidations hit $286 million, worse than Bitcoin's $197 million, even though ETH's open interest is only about 60% of BTC's. Assets more sensitive to leverage get hit first.
---
But the market tells another version of the story.
Bitcoin's 1% depth reached $11.7 million on October 7, 75% higher than the flash crash on October 10 last year. Ethereum's 0.5% depth order book more than doubled compared to the crash day, reaching $4.2 million. This is real money stacked by market makers, not an illusion of price rebound. The "foundation" of mainstream coins is thickening.
Altcoins paint a completely different picture. The 5% depth in USD terms has dropped about one-third since early 2025, down to $2 million, and the weekly spot trading volume is nearly two-thirds lower than during the flash crash week. Liquidity has not returned to altcoins; it has chosen to stay at the gates of $BTC and $ETH. This means if a rebound really comes, altcoins' "support" will be more selective than before, and the speed of pullback after a spike will be faster, narrowing the tolerance for chasing highs.
A detail worth watching on Ethereum: the $ETH/$BTC exchange inflow ratio is falling from a high, meaning holders are sending fewer coins to exchanges to sell, and the $ETH/$BTC spot volume ratio has stopped hitting new lows. This doesn't mean $ETH is about to lead altcoins higher, but the relative strength is shifting from "being suppressed unilaterally" toward "stabilizing." This change is slow but more honest than any trading call.
---
So the current situation is better understood as a risk preference re-pricing than a simple bull or bear market.
During tailwinds, everyone competes on who leverages higher and pushes harder; during headwinds, the competition is on who holds cash, who stays at the table, and whose positions won't wake them up at midnight.
That 32-year-old trader withdrawing 250,000 was actually doing one thing: paying himself a "winter salary" before the tailwind fully turns into a headwind. It's not bearish; it's acknowledging that volatility is cyclical and that his mindset and account can't endure a second time of "taking tailwinds as normal."
Going forward, focus on three things rather than guessing direction:
When $BTC pulls back, is volume shrinking to stop the fall, or increasing to leak downward? Shrinking volume on pullback means chips are settling; volume breakout means leverage is clearing again.
Can $ETH/$BTC rise first while $BTC stabilizes? If $BTC moves sideways and $ETH's relative strength rises, it means funds are rotating internally, not fleeing risk. If both move sideways with shrinking volume, it's pure wait-and-see.
The speed of altcoin pullbacks after spikes. Good support means pullbacks have buying support; poor support means prices retreat after just three candlesticks. This signal is more direct than any narrative.
Leaving a winter fund during tailwinds gives you the qualification to slowly refine your strategy during headwinds.
Respect volatility first, then talk about direction.

In two hours, it bounced from 79,800 back to 82,500. Honestly, when I saw this candle, my first reaction wasn’t excitement but a chill down my spine.
Too fast. So fast it’s like someone had already cast a net below 78,000, waiting for you to get cut at the floor before scooping you up. Glassnode’s data is straightforward: liquidity below 80,000 is ridiculously thin, and the real new buy orders cluster around 78,000—that’s where "real money" is willing to step in. In other words, the 80,000 round number is more of an emotional fig leaf than a structural iron bottom.
The bulls’ trump card is more fragile than it appears on the surface.
The average ETF holding cost is roughly around $81,500. Although the price has bounced back to 82,500, it means most people who entered through ETFs in recent months have just barely poked their heads above water. This "just breaking even" state is the most dangerous—push a little higher, and the unlocking positions will flood out like a dam breaking. The 84,000 to 86,000 range isn’t just packed with retail stop-loss orders; it’s the densest chip wall held by long-term holders, the "escape hatch" shared by ETF trapped positions and early bulls. Without continuous real money volume to chew through it, trying to break through with just a two-hour bullish candle is like trying to dismantle a wall with nail clippers.
The bears haven’t been idle either, just changing tactics.
Willy Woo said back in early March: if 80,000 is quickly pierced and then reclaimed, it’s likely a bull trap; the macro environment doesn’t support a V-shaped recovery. It sounded alarmist then, but looking back, it’s at least worth keeping on your screen. ETF fund flows tell the story better: mid-March saw four consecutive weeks of net inflows, but by the last week of March, Bitcoin ETFs had a single-week net outflow of $296 million, wiping out a large portion of the previous four weeks’ gains. The capital side never formed a "sustained buying" momentum, only a tug-of-war of two steps forward, one step back.
The real knife is outside the candlestick chart.
Core PPI hit 3.9% in February, a one-year high; CPI at 2.4% looks okay but is still far from the 2% target. The Fed held steady in March, with the dot plot suggesting possibly only one rate cut left this year, and Powell even put "next step could be a rate hike" on the table. Under this macro backdrop, every decent rebound in risk assets is treated by institutions as a window to reduce positions, not to add. Not to mention the Fear & Greed Index was in single digits in early March, and while prolonged extreme fear can be a contrarian indicator, "extreme sentiment" only explains rebound elasticity, not the height of a reversal.
So my view is straightforward: this looks more like a short-term bottoming repair, not a trend reversal signal. Holding 80,000 means bulls still have some breath; but the real test is the wall from 84,000 to 86,500. Until we see continuous ETF net inflows return and weekly candle bodies close above 86,000, any intraday rally I’ll treat as "providing liquidity to trapped positions."
Don’t catch a falling knife, don’t chase fake breakouts. Let it choose its own direction—living longer beats picking its direction for it.

What do you think this bullish candle is—a tourniquet or a bull trap candy? Let’s discuss in the comments. The entire market is down with 172 coins falling, median -2.27%, but $SAND quietly rose 10% today.
It's not chasing the sector; it's driven by its own structure.
Looking at the 4H chart: starting from around $0.055 at midnight on October 17, three candlesticks gradually increased volume — 39M at 4 AM, 45M at 8 AM, and a volume spike to 148M at noon. The volume is more than 10 times that of the previous days. This is not retail sentiment; there is active capital building positions.
Today's close is 0.061, with 24-hour trading volume of $212 million.
Why SAND?
The Metaverse sector has been quiet for almost two months, with $MANA and $ENJ showing no movement. But SAND's on-chain active addresses and contract interactions have been quietly rising recently — plus the metaverse sector itself is oversold, and the chip structure is clean enough. Today's bullish candle looks more like a "natural selection after a deep drop" rather than being triggered by any news.
The key level now is 0.064 — the opening price of the high-volume bearish candle on October 12. If it can break through 0.064 with volume tomorrow, the structure will look much better.
What do you think? Can the bulls surpass 0.064 tomorrow?📊 $NFLX Earnings Preview: Meeting performance targets is just the starting point; the advertising business is the key!
Netflix will release its Q3 earnings after the U.S. market closes on October 20. This time, I’m more focused on the quality of growth rather than just the revenue numbers.
📌 Key market points to watch:
- Revenue guidance: $12.86 billion, approximately 12% year-over-year growth
- Operating margin expectation: 33.2%
- Core focus: Monetization capability of the advertising business and Q4 performance guidance
One thing to note: Last year’s tax expenses affected profit performance, so this year’s margin improvement can’t be fully attributed to core business growth; the base effect must be excluded.
I tend to be cautiously optimistic, but what really determines whether the stock price can continue to rise may not be how impressive Q3 results are, but whether advertising revenue exceeds expectations and whether management signals stronger growth for Q4.
If the earnings report just meets expectations, the stock price may not respond; the real surprise might come from future growth potential.
Do you think $NFLX will break upward after this earnings report, or is the good news already priced in?
#NFLX #奈飞财报 #美股分析 #广告业务增长#NetflixQ3AdsAndMargins Jensen Huang's one sentence pulled CRWV up 6%, while on the same day its CDS spread hit a historic high.
On October 15, Jensen Huang said in Stockholm: CoreWeave is getting stronger every day, and NVIDIA does not need to back it.
The stock price rose from an intraday -9% to close at +5.9%, closing at 69.69.
On the same day, the five-year CDS spread widened intraday to 1194.5 basis points, a historic high.
The implied five-year cumulative default probability exceeded 60%.
Bonds are more straightforward: the 9% coupon bonds maturing in 2031 yield 15.6%, and the 9.75% ones yield 16.2%.
Carrying about $52 billion in debt and lease obligations, the interest alone in Q2 was $640 million.
The trump card is $104 billion in contracts to be fulfilled, which is also the reason it must continue borrowing.
I think the stock price listens to what people say, but the bond market only recognizes cash flow.
Jensen Huang says capital costs are decreasing, but bond yields rising from 15% to 16.2% is the opposite direction.
I am not buying.
If I were to buy, I would wait for two signals: CDS spreads narrowing for two consecutive weeks, or new bond issuance rates below 10%.
A break below 59.51 (the low on 10/15) would be a repricing, not a mispricing.

US CPI and PPI both exceeded expectations, theoretically bearish for risk assets; however, on October 16, Walsh did not clarify whether there would be a rate hike in October, and Daly and Goolsbee were also cautious. After the data release, the market's bet on a 25 basis point hike in October dropped to about 15%, but there is still significant divergence on the path for the rest of the year. The core contradiction is "hard data, soft statements": panic is partially hedged, and the probability of an immediate rate hike in the short term is low.
Will there be another rate hike this year? The short-term probability is low, but not risk-free; the key depends on whether inflation continues to rebound. If subsequent data remains hot, the expectation of restarting rate hikes will suppress the market again.
On the market front, BTC is mainly fluctuating widely in the short term, with inflation pressure and cooling rate hike expectations tugging against each other, awaiting more Fed speeches for direction; ETH moves with the broader market but with greater elasticity, and changes in rate expectations will amplify volatility; SOL is most sensitive to liquidity, facing stronger pullback pressure when rate hike expectations rise, and more likely to surge when easing expectations dominate.
In response, it is not advisable to treat a single data point as a trend. Currently, it looks more like a range-bound game driven by speeches, with BTC, ETH, and SOL most likely maintaining wide fluctuations. Controlling positions and waiting for confirmation is safer.

I opened a short position on TIA at 0.6785, and the current price has already dropped to 0.6327, with an unrealized profit of 20.25%, completely turning losses into gains. During the high-level volatility a couple of days ago, many people were shouting for a quick bull rebound, many cut losses and ran, but I held on stubbornly. Why did I dare to hold? Because the trend hasn't changed; no matter how high it rallies, it will obediently fall back eventually.
Look at BLUR now, the current price is 0.01012, although it rose slightly by 0.70%, look at the selling pressure above: 500,000 at 0.01013, 3.7 million at 0.01014, and a huge order of 7.93 million at 0.01015. The long-short ratio is 32% to 68%, with bears completely dominating. Retail investors want to bottom-fish? The layers of sell orders above keep pressing down, making it impossible to lift the price.
On-chain signals have never stopped. Upbit has put BLUR on the trading warning list, market maker Wintermute keeps transferring coins to exchanges, and the platform's TVL has plummeted nearly 90%.
This is just the beginning, not the end. The trend is downward, keep holding the short position steady, let the profits fly a little longer.

Meta's AI mega-investment has officially entered the "big test" phase, with market focus shifting from the "scale" of capital expenditure to the "return rate" in real money.
Currently, Meta is deeply trapped in the dilemma of advertising "money printing" versus AI "burning money." Although AI empowerment has increased advertising unit prices, capital expenditures exceeding $30 billion per quarter have caused free cash flow to plummet by 90%, sharply increasing financial pressure. Unlike Microsoft and Google, Meta lacks cloud business as a monetization buffer; its AI returns rely entirely on advertising efficiency improvements and the still immature AI Agent, making the commercialization path unclear. Although management is betting heavily on the future of "personal AI agents" against all odds, they have yet to provide a clear timeline for return on investment.
As the "purest AI stress test sample," whether Meta's AI story can deliver will directly determine if it can survive this brutal capital winter.Don't mistake the upgrade calendar for a price increase schedule
The Alpenglow upgrade is scheduled for October 21, yet $SOL is still hovering around 104, down 5.5% over the week. The clearer the schedule, the more cautious you should be about one thing: expectations may have already been priced in early. Next, verify in three steps—whether the upgrade can be completed smoothly, whether improvements translate into real usage, and whether the market is willing to assign a higher valuation. The first step is not hard to fulfill; the latter two are the real turning points. If discussions heat up as the launch approaches but buying pressure fails to push prices, it’s likely not that the market hasn’t reacted, but that the pricing is already stretched.
$ENA gave a single-day rebound of 2.7%, but still fell 9% over the week. This is when it’s easiest to overestimate the speed of recovery. I prefer to continuously record the low points after each rebound: if each bounce ends lower than the previous one, the structure is still deteriorating; only if the lows gradually rise can the rebound be considered to have started producing results.
$OP rose 39% in a month but was basically flat over the week. The previous rise has already happened; now we need to see where new momentum will come from. Without significant changes in business progress or market sentiment, simply expecting another rise because "it has consolidated long enough" is a weak argument. The calendar can be set, but prices don’t necessarily follow.

Don't rush to call it a crash; these are perpetual contract prices being traded, which doesn't mean the US stock spot market is simultaneously plunging, nor can it be directly interpreted as institutions collectively fleeing.
But this spike down isn't without background.
The Nasdaq dropped about 4.5% over the week, CoreWeave fell 12% in one day, and about 25% over five trading days; rising oil prices, inflation rebound, and rate hike concerns are squeezing the imagination space for high-valuation AI assets. The market is starting to doubt how much profit the AI infrastructure investments being hammered down can actually make back.
This sharp drop should be seen as a liquidity warning in a high volatility environment and cannot yet prove a full withdrawal of spot funds. If the spot market simultaneously shows volume decline, and perpetual open interest and liquidation data also indicate leverage clearing, then it would mean deleveraging is spreading;
If it's just a brief spike down followed by recovery, don't immediately interpret a contract anomaly as an AI bubble burst.

Taking a look at the long and short data of $BTC, $ETH, and $SOL, the position structures of these three coins are quite interesting.
BTC long accounts make up about 64%, shorts 36%, with a long-short ratio close to 1.8:1. ETH is even more extreme, with longs around 76%, meaning about 3 out of every 4 accounts are long. SOL longs are about 72%, also dominated by longs.
Don’t rush to call a bull comeback.
BTC’s contract open interest has dropped about 7% in the last 30 days, indicating some leverage has already withdrawn. ETH longs are even more crowded; if the price continues to weaken, liquidation pressure is worth watching out for. SOL is a bit unusual: long accounts dominate, but the funding rate is negative, indicating that the number of accounts and contract funding preferences are not aligned.
What concerns me more is not whose headcount is bigger, but whose positions are more fragile.
If BTC falls and open interest increases, it means new positions are still entering; if price falls and open interest decreases simultaneously, it’s more likely positions are being liquidated. Conversely, price rising with spot volume increasing looks more like genuine buying rather than just short covering.

From procurement to storage to plating, the entire chain is handled in-house.
Standard Chartered serves professional diners in the UAE with BTC/ETH spot and RLUSD custody, while BNY has expanded its European cold storage. Three players compete for the stove, not for the wok’s heat, but for "whose cold storage key inspires more trust to hand over the whole piece of meat."
No matter how beautifully the menu is written, the timing of the dish is crucial. Launching in weeks? Without a cold chain, no matter how expensive the meat, it will rot in storage. Whether demand can turn into custody assets and continuous inflows depends not on applause at launch events but on every batch of inventory matching perfectly and every reconciliation statement being clean. This is the sous-chef’s job—most tedious but the truest test.
I talk about the recipe every day: mainstream coins are the main course, custody is the serving plate—if the plate is steady, the main course can be piled high; altcoins are the seasoning, sprinkled more or less depending on the main course’s mood; leveraged contracts are the extra spicy chili, which institutions won’t touch, but retail investors always add aggressively, burning their guts and then crying for help.
$xIREN is the side dish plate’s linkage: when the main course’s heat changes, the marbling in the side dish shifts accordingly. US stock token targets are like the light at the pass-through window—whether it’s on depends on whether there’s real fire on the stove, not how pretty the menu looks.
Anyone can heat up the pot, but whether the fire stays on in front of the guests is the dividing line between head chef and sous-chef. Without building the cold chain, without clear batch verification, and with withdrawal channels clogging at peak times, even the grandest banquet is just an empty plate set at the door facing the wind. #deutschebankcustody【$SOL has put its signboard in Shanghai, Solana reconnects with Chinese developers and the tech ecosystem】
A company named "Solana" has been registered in Shanghai, and the Solana team has indeed set up an office there, but these two things should not be confused: the company’s registered capital is 5 million yuan, and the joint venture’s registered capital is 10 million yuan, neither of which is funding to buy SOL. Current public information also does not prove that these companies belong to the Solana Foundation.
What’s truly worth trading on here is the expectation that Solana is reconnecting with Chinese developers and the tech ecosystem. There is room for imagination in AI, robotics, payments, and developer activities, but mainland China still has strict restrictions on cryptocurrency trading and related businesses. The Shanghai event was even postponed due to over-registration. The excitement is real, but how much of it will translate into on-chain demand remains uncertain.
Whether it succeeds or not, I think this is a positive sentiment boost for SOL, but it’s not yet a fundamental reversal. Going forward, it depends on whether developers, applications, on-chain transactions, and stablecoin funds continue to grow. If these data truly follow through, the Shanghai office will be more than just a nice photo; if not, the market will leave after hyping the "China story".Under the surgical operating light, the most dangerous thing is never the monitor's alarm, but the insufficient perfusion that has already occurred while the surgical field is still debating blood pressure numbers. This sanction waiver news is like a suddenly released aortic clamp: the White House exempts some Russian sanctions and high tariffs, ostensibly to relieve the supply side and ease oil prices, but the real problem is not in the policy rhetoric, but in the microcirculation of the diesel supply chain. The sanction relaxation only temporarily opens the vascular anastomosis; if any part of the oil tanker, insurance, shipping costs, or delivery schedule forms a thrombus, the flow will drop again. The US-Russia diesel trade is still waiting for goods, indicating the anastomosis is not truly unobstructed; lifting restrictions on paper does not mean pulsatile blood flow has resumed in the surgical field.
Trump said oil prices might drop soon, which only looks at preload, not afterload. Ukraine's opposition to cooperation and resumption of attacks on Russian refineries is like repeatedly causing intimal tears on a freshly sutured vessel: refinery shutdowns, disrupted export rhythms, and diesel shortages possibly lasting until 2027 are chronic ischemia, not something a single antihypertensive shot can fix. The International Energy Agency's warning is more like intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography, showing not just a single price fluctuation but perfusion defects in the entire refining and transportation system. Production loss is still unclear, indicating bleeding volume is still being assessed; any premature declaration that "blood pressure is stable" is reckless.
The linkage of the US stock tokenized asset $xTSM should be viewed according to systemic perfusion response, not emotional tachycardia. If the oil price drop comes from real supply recovery, it is vascular recanalization; if it is only a temporary vasodilation caused by sanction waivers while refinery risks and shipping costs remain high, it is a pseudo-improvement, and peripheral perfusion is still poor. The market crash is just a symptom; the root cause lies in the composite embolism formed by diesel shortages, refining bottlenecks, and geopolitical attacks. My surgical judgment is cold: first look at flow, then pressure; first confirm whether the anastomosis is unobstructed, then talk about whether the price will fall. The monitor can be quiet, but the myocardium does not lie. The diagnosis is written in the perfusion curve: this relaxation is not a radical resection, just a conditional decompression. #usrussiasanctionswaiver$ENA The whale has high control over the market; the overall trend is downward. Short-term bearish momentum has already released some energy. Beware of sudden spikes.
Key resistance level: $0.2000
Key support level: $0.1800
Long-short ratio: Retail investors are stubborn, whales are holding on desperately.
Binance retail long-short ratio is 1.2046, OKX retail long-short ratio is 1.48. Retail investors are still overall bullish.
Whale side: Whale count long-short ratio is 1.5641, whale position long-short ratio is as high as 1.7848.
Project fundamentals and on-chain data: The whale controls the market, market makers are flipping positions.
On-chain data: The top three holders are StablecoinX Ordinals (8.22%), Ethena Proxy (7.32%), and staking contracts (6.45%). A large amount of tokens are locked in protocol and project-related proxy contracts, indicating high control.
Entity fund changes (7 days): TMC Capital surged 530.7%, market maker Wintermute increased 48.2%, Bitget increased 26.84%. Market makers and institutions are moving chips to exchanges, signaling strong selling pressure.
$BTC $ETH #美国CPI与PPI双超预期,年内能否再加息? MSCI Boot Drops: Strategy May Be Kicked Out of the Index, $2.8 Billion Passive Selling Pressure on the Way.
On October 16, MSCI finalized new rules: companies with asset structures like "investment vehicles" and no substantial operating activities will no longer qualify for inclusion in the MSCI Global Investable Market Index.
22 companies are on the potential list, 14 of which are crypto treasury companies, accounting for 94.5% of the free float market cap; Strategy, Metaplanet, and Upexi are listed for potential removal, with the list released on November 11 and effective after market close on November 30.
MSTR closed at $136.83 on Friday, down 9.5% in a single day, with 31.83 million shares traded showing significant volume, down 75% from the $543 high in November 2024.
I think this cut is not aimed at Bitcoin, but at the "financing to buy coins" business model; passive funds must sell shares, but Strategy’s 848,000 BTC will not be sold because of this.
I won’t act before the November 11 list is finalized; I will wait until the passive selling pressure is fully released to reassess; if Strategy is not on the final list, or if FTSE and S&P clearly do not follow suit, this logic becomes invalid.
Which side are you on? A: Removal = end of financing-to-buy-coins model, stay away; B: Passive selling finished = opportunity to pick up bargains.
