Tether completed its first-ever full financial audit by a Big Four accounting firm (KPMG), with unqualified opinions and reserves exceeding liabilities by $6.814B.
This is an important transparency upgrade in the stablecoin industry. Previously, USDT only issued attestations, and a full audit meant stricter balance sheet checks.
However, the stablecoin market remained generally quiet: total market cap $297.9B, down 0.41% weekly, and monthly transfer volume down 16.58%. Transparency is a long-term positive, but short-term on-chain liquidity remains tight.
