Grvt could make Ondo almost invisible. The headline everyone will focus on is: “$100M flowing into tokenized Treasuries.” But the more interesting story is what the user never sees. Grvt is reportedly holding USDY on its own balance sheet and incorporating the yield directly into a single base rate. That means users can potentially earn a Treasury-like return without ever directly interacting with the token, the underlying note, or even thinking about Ondo. And that may be the real direction of RWAs. Not: “Buy and hold this tokenized asset.” But: “The yield is already built into the product.” Here are the numbers worth watching: 💰 $100M target position over 12 months 📊 Roughly 4.6% of the existing USDY supply 📈 Around 3.5% APY, or approximately $3.5M annually if fully deployed That 4.6% figure is particularly interesting. One platform is potentially looking to account for nearly 5% of a roughly $2.1B market. That highlights just how concentrated onchain fixed income remains — and how much room there is for the sector to mature into real financial infrastructure. But there’s another side to this. Abstraction makes the experience easier, but it doesn’t eliminate the underlying risk. The user may simply see one clean rate on the front end, while behind the scenes there can be multiple layers: Grvt → Ondo → bank deposits / ETF exposure → underlying assets. The interface becomes simpler. The risk stack doesn’t necessarily become simpler. That’s why I think the biggest winners of this cycle won’t necessarily be the platforms offering the highest headline yield. They’ll be the ones capable of making the financial plumbing invisible without making the risks invisible. Tokenized Treasuries are gradually moving beyond being a standalone product. They’re becoming a feature embedded into financial applications. And most users may only realize how significant that shift is after it has already happened. Who else is watching this trend?
