Volume rising: Increasing volume is worth watching, but it doesn't by itself prove that the downtrend has ended. Upcoming earnings + unlock: These are the two major catalysts. Earnings could change the fundamental narrative, while a large unlock could create significant additional supply. Sentiment risk: The “everyone must be bullish/bearish” mentality is dangerous. A stock can squeeze higher and still reverse quickly. Short squeeze ≠ fundamental breakout: The important confirmation would be sustained volume, improving fundamentals, and price holding higher levels after the squeeze fades.
