Your core observation is fair: BTC is showing a lack of follow-through despite relatively supportive macro data. On August 14, BTC remained around $63K even after softer U.S. inflation data, while ETF flows turned negative again.
But I’d soften one part: “there is genuinely no one buying at the top” is too absolute. The market can be in a distribution/consolidation phase without proving that large holders have completely exited.
For the current structure:
BTC: $64K remains an important upside hurdle; failure to reclaim it keeps the range vulnerable.
ETH: Around $1.9K, it also lacks convincing upside momentum.
ETF flows: Two consecutive days of BTC ETF outflows are a genuine short-term headwind.
Macro: Softer inflation should theoretically help risk assets, but crypto hasn't responded strongly—which itself suggests demand/liquidity remains the bigger issue.
So rather than assuming “it must fall” or “it must reverse,” the better conclusion is: **the market is waiting for a catalyst, and until BTC breaks out of its range with real volume, patience is valuable.**
