A staking yield can look impressive on paper — until the underlying asset drops 23%. 📉 SharpLink reported a $394M Q2 net loss, including roughly $321M in unrealized $ETH losses and another $76M related to staking impairments. The bigger takeaway for me is simple: An Ethereum treasury still carries full directional exposure to $ETH . Staking can generate additional yield, but it doesn’t provide meaningful protection when the underlying asset experiences a sharp drawdown.
